Model XP140 ::
Explosion-proof level & distance transmitter

The XP140 is an explosion-proof laser transmitter designed for precise level, distance & position measurement of dry bulk solids, opaque liquids & slurries in challenging environments. The device is capable of measuring over extended distances, up to 240 ft (75 m).

High performance optics include a precise, pulsed measurement laser & an aiming laser to assist with alignment. No beam divergence means no false echoes so accurate targeting is easy, even in silos or vessels that have complex internal structures, mixing equipment or build-up. The system is completely immune to reflections & echoes, providing accurate readings on solids with immunity to 'cone up' & 'cone down' variations in the material being measured. Geared to last pulse detection, the XP140 is able to select true signals in environments with quickly changing visibility conditions, in the presence of dust, vapors, smoke, irrespective of surrounding noise such as agitator blades. Color compensation corrects for weak or excessive return signals, even at high speeds. Readings can be updated as quickly as three times per second.

Housed in a compact & modular explosion-proof assembly with a screw-on, glass cover for quick & easy access, the XP140 meets the requirements for use in hazardous areas & is rated for IP67 or NEMA 4X, Class I Div. I Group A, B, C, & D ratings. The standard housing is powder-coated aluminum with optional stainless steel for corrosive environments. Stainless steel dust tubes prevent dust build-up & protect the optical lens from being coated. The dual-compartment design isolates wiring & terminations from sensors & internal electronics. The system features such output options as 4-20mA & HART.

An integrated graphic display provides easy readout viewing & the user-friendly setup menu supports a wide range of languages. No calibration or special configuration software is required, so setup & troubleshooting are quick & simple.
